Poole Anderson today announced President Stephanie Schmidt has been named as one of nine exceptional female construction leaders nationwide in Construction Business Owner’s Outstanding Women in Construction.
Finalists were selected based on their expertise, leadership, management and contributions made to their companies, specialties and communities, and they represent the most influential women working to build a better environment for all in construction.
“It is humbling to be honored among these extraordinary women, who are truly a positive influence on the construction industry,” said Schmidt. “However, this type of recognition is not earned alone. Poole Anderson would not be what it is today without our people, who are instrumental in making our business a leader in the Keystone State and continually strengthening our growth and reputation in the contracting community.”
Schmidt is the incoming chair of the board of directors of Associated Builders and Contractors, a national construction industry trade association established in 1950 that represents more than 21,000 members. She has been involved in ABC at the local and national levels for more than 20 years, serving as a past chair of the ABC Central Pennsylvania Chapter board of directors and a member of the ABC Keystone and ABC Western Pennsylvania chapters. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Statewide Council of General Contractors and the Design-Build Institute of America and is a DBIA-certified practitioner.
Schmidt has held a career in construction for nearly 40 years and is currently president of Poole Anderson Construction, a regional commercial construction company that provides construction management, design-build and general contracting services throughout Pennsylvania. As President, she is responsible for providing and overseeing the resources necessary for accomplishing the planning, design, pre-construction and construction services for every project. In addition, she formulates the company’s strategic planning to achieve the objectives of the business plan with the aim of maximizing return and minimizing risk for the company. Joining Poole Anderson in 1999, she has served as vice president of business development, vice president of operations and executive vice president. A Pennsylvania State University architectural engineering graduate, Schmidt began her career working for a national construction management company. She then worked for her alma mater, where she managed the design and construction of renovation and maintenance projects for academic and administrative units. Schmidt currently serves on the executive board of the Penn College Construction Management Advisory Council.
Schmidt enjoys watching the construction industry succeed and has devoted years of service to giving back. Learn more about Schmidt’s contributions to the industry in her Outstanding Women in Construction profile.
