At Poole Anderson, we’ve always believed that construction is about more than just building projects, it’s about building relationships, legacies, and community. To highlight this recent Father’s Day, we’re proud to recognize a special part of our team: the three father-son duos who are not only part of our workforce, but part of each other’s lives every single day.
These families embody the values that drive our company forward, commitment, trust, teamwork, and a shared passion for what we do. While each story is unique, they all share one common thread: the opportunity to learn, grow, and work together.
The Peacheys
Mike joined Poole Anderson back in 2007, when our Harrisburg presence was just beginning to take shape. When looking back on this time Mike stated, “I looked forward to coming on board and being a part of making our mark on the Harrisburg region, and we definitely have established ourselves.”
Now, years later, he’s not only helped grow our Eastern Region footprint, he’s had the joy of welcoming his son Tyler to the team. “I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Tyler and I enjoy having him with the company,” stated Mike.
It’s a full-circle moment, one that goes back to a middle school career day when Tyler said he wanted to work with his dad in construction. “Well, I guess that wish is now reality.”
Tyler has been with our team for 2 years and is currently a part of the ABC Apprenticeship Program. When asked about what it’s like working with his dad Tyler said, “Getting to work with my dad every day has been a really special experience. I get to learn from his years of experience, and share in the successes and challenges together. It’s something I’ve always looked forward to and now I get to live it.”
We’re proud to have both Mike and Tyler as part of the Poole Anderson family. Their story is a great reminder of the legacy, leadership, and love that fathers bring, both on the job site and off.
The Dixons
John Dixon’s journey with Poole Anderson began in 1989, when the company was still L.C. Anderson and operating out of a small office on Mount Vernon Avenue in Huntingdon. John started as a laborer, quickly moved into equipment operation, and was promoted to superintendent. In 2008, he became General Superintendent a role he’s proudly held for nearly two decades. “Who knew, 36 years later I’d make it a career and proudly do it with one company,” John shared.
John’s son, Sean, grew up on the baseball field and one spring afternoon as they were headed to a game, Sean looked out the window and said, “It smells like baseball.” That moment stuck and to this day, the Dixons don’t say “it smells like spring,” they say “it smells like baseball.” While construction wasn’t Sean’s original plan, he started working part-time at Poole Anderson during college breaks. What began as a temporary job quickly became a career. “I started with Poole Anderson in 2010 right out of school, originally thinking it would be a bridge until I figured out what I really wanted to do, and ended up falling in love with the work,” Sean shared.
As Sean recalls, watching his dad work long hours left a lasting impression: “I can remember being a young kid and thinking that my dad must be crazy to wake up before the sun came up and come home all sweaty and dirty. I really looked up to the mindset and discipline that it takes to bust your tail day in and day out.”
Still, entering the field wasn’t easy especially with his dad as the leader on the jobsite. “Respect is earned in the construction field through hard work and the willingness to learn, and he made sure that I wasn’t going to have it easier just because he was the one in charge.”
Today, the learning goes both ways. While John has taught Sean the tricks of the trade, Sean has introduced his dad to new technologies and perspectives, and now, as a father himself, Sean is passing on the same values to his own son, Zane, who’s already finding his way on the baseball field
For John and Sean, working together at Poole Anderson has not only been a career, it’s been a shared journey of learning, leadership, and family pride.
The Wycoskis
For Stan Wycoski, joining Poole Anderson in 2020 felt like the right decision from the very start and immediately knew it was where he belonged. “Everyone was extremely responsive to my visit and made me feel very welcome to be here,” Stan shared. “My interview was with all of the department heads, which really made me feel accepting the interview was important not only to me but everyone that is involved in growing Poole Anderson to be the best we can be.”
Stan’s son, Tom, had been alongside him for much of his early life, joining Stan on weekend and summer projects, helping out with side work, and developing a love for working with his hands. “He always felt accomplished when he created something on his own,” Stan reflected.
A little over two years ago, Tom was looking for a career change and if there might be an opportunity at Poole Anderson, and there was. Tom joined the team, and hasn’t looked back since. He started on the West College project and has since worked on multiple job sites. When asked about his time with Poole Anderson Tom stated, “I’m excited to grow within the company and I look forward to one day becoming a superintendent like my dad.”
Of course, for the Wycoski family, life isn’t all about work. Stan, Tom, and their family enjoy spending time hunting, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, heading to the beach, and making time for quality family moments together.
We’re grateful for the example these families set, demonstrating every day how strong bonds and shared values can make a company stronger. Their teamwork, dedication, and mutual support inspire us all, and remind us that family isn’t just something we talk about at Poole Anderson, it’s something we live.
