Poole Anderson began working on the McKee Hall renovations at the very end of December. We performed some preliminary work in the attic Spaces near stack B, but our focus throughout this spring will be in Stack A. This month, we are doing demolition work in the bathroom spaces to open them up and prepare for the new construction to create the single use bathrooms. This will create some noise as we have to chip out the existing tile flooring assemblies. Concurrently, we are working in the attic space to transform it into additional student bedrooms. That process begins with removing the insulation to create a safe work space and expose existing electrical conduit that needs to be rerouted before moving on to build up the new flooring assembly. The install of the new flooring assembly consists of installing steel and wood reinforcing before an engineered concrete plank is laid across and covered with plywood. You will likely be able to hear when those materials are installed, but it should only last two weeks.
Follow along for more updates and stay turned for information regarding an upcoming opportunity to tour the space!
