Spring of 2004 saw the ground breaking for this school. This project involves the phased construction of a new elementary school building, while a portion of the existing building is in use. Once this new portion is completed, the faculty and students will be moved to this section to allow for the demolition of the final section of the new work.
The building is masonry bearing construction, with the use of varied masonry elements on the exterior to allow textures to work as a design element. The interior will feature many design elements that allow light to enter spaces in various ways to enhance some of the larger, more spacious areas. The new building is framed in a natural wooded setting allowing for the tight integration of building elements with existing and new trees and plantings.
The management skills of Poole Anderson Construction will be essential in the smooth transitions between all Prime Contractors, the Owner, and the Architect that will have to happen to make this phasing work.
